The reconversion of the former Boulogne-sur-Mer maritime terminal to a Cultural Center not only integrates the two major facilities of a 2000-seat auditorium and an intermediate-level Music Hall, but also more broadly the complete recomposition of the site to facilitate its accomodation by the public.

To this end, the project includes the implementation of the two rooms as the culmination of the current structures of the ferry terminal of which they become a monumental punctuation:

On the sea side, the SMAC opens its transparency like a lantern turned to the sea; access side mail, the scene of the great room opens largely on an outdoor space able to accommodate up to 5000 people.
