Hotel de Sully now welcomes the National Monument Center headquarter, in charge of conserving, restoring, managing, animating and opening to the public almost 100 national monuments which are properties of the State. He is known by the general public for his bookstore which offers books about cultural heritage, which is a reference at national level, as well as his magnificent interior garden, which is opened to visitors.
The 2009 move out of the basement premises, previously used for the Culture and Communication Ministry temporary exhibitions and organized by the Jeu de Paume, was the opportunity to review the organization of the reception and the bookstore, hardly visible for the visitors.
The operation also included the public opening of the Duchess apartment, located on the first floor, which were the subject of the historic monument restoration procedure.
This project is part of a vaster operation of the monument global redevelopment that also includes the CMN office and the future documentation center.
