The project is located on Muharrak island close to the new bridge connecting this town to Manama. It is part of a booming district benefiting of expanding constructions mainly reclaimed on the southern coast of the island. The surroundings are currently free of any constructions and the piece of land appears itself as a rectangular plot floating on shallow waters. On East side, a curved ramp leads to the bridge leaving in between a triangular plot which is meant to welcome a public park in the near future.
The proximity of a residential pole occupied by many american expatriates opens the opportunity to offer an extension. Considering the lack of existing facilities in the immediate surroundings of the site, the brief includes not only residential buildings of various types, but also retail stores, a health center and leisure places for entertainment of the inhabitants.
The detailed brief comprises:
° Residential buildings with apartments of the following types:
- 55 % of two bedrooms apartments
- 35 % of three bedrooms apartments
- 10 % of studios
° The corresponding car-parks with a ratio of at least 2 cars per flat.
° A spa and health center.
° Retail stores and other facilities
The following proposal has been planned to meet these targets with the maximum of comfort and attractiveness for the users.
The concept is meant to propose an innovative solution and a bright architectural design.
