Réserves mutualisées des collections des musées de Bordeaux

There are 7 museums in Bordeaux located on six areas where the non-exposed collections are for some of them stored on the museum site or in buildings situated far from it: Museum of Fine Arts, Aquitaine Museum, Goupil Museum, Museum of decorative Arts, CAPC, Jean Moulin Center, Natural History museum.

Because of the several on site storages places, the congestion and dilapidated state of some buildings, the poor preservation conditions of the collections led the city to conduct a study on the feasibility and the installation of a common storage center endowed with an optimal management of those collections (unloading dock, gateways, quarantine rooms, packaging locals, collections care, collections restoration, shooting, research).
